Step N Grooves is a highly regarded, original and engaging dance school for youngsters aged 4 – 16 years*. It offers its pupils the chance to learn lively and contemporary Freestyle / Disco and Street dance, participate in our many performances and best of all to become part of the Step N Grooves troop! Pupils are also given the opportunity to learn Rock N Roll dance.

The school has become renowned for its engaging, fun-time atmosphere. Within a Step N Grooves lesson, dance routines and skills practice are often taught in conjunction with playing dancing games and staging our fun, mini in house competitions! There are often prizes and rewards to hand! This style of teaching indirectly allows the dancers to practice and improve on certain techniques, but more importantly gives them a chance to have a giggle.

Step N Grooves has proven a sensational hit since it was initially established and has continued to thrive and grow in size ever since the first session commenced in Ringstead.

The dancers in the school are encouraged to take N.A.T.D examinations, participate in the annual shows and get involved in our displays, presentation evenings and events. We also hold Step N Grooves Summer Dance Workshops for over 7’s.

* Although the age limit is set at 16 for the classes, when a dancer turns 17, they do not have to leave! The age limit is just set for the preliminary intake into the group! All dancers are welcome to stay until they are grey and old if they so wish!

Steph Newman (who established and teaches all Step N Grooves lessons) has 10 years experience teaching and is now a fully qualified Freestyle dance teacher, holding the highest possible Fellowship degree, under the National Association Teachers of Dancing, which takes 6 years to complete.

Steph has been dancing since the age of 3 and is proficient in Rock and Roll, Street and Freestyle Disco dance, as well as Latin American & Ballroom and consequently now teaches these styles on to her pupils in her Step N Grooves lessons. She is fully CRB checked & holds a First Aid for the Appointed Person Certificate.
